We met one morning in December at Esalen. I enjoyed the light in your
eyes, and was enchanted to discover what you were doing in the Gaiamind
project. Among other things my work addresses the effects of such
consciousness coalescence as you are promoting, and seeks to measure it
using ordinary scientific and statistical technologies.
I append a note I am sending to colleagues who do similar work to mine.
It invites them to participate in the measurement project, and it includes
information from your invitation, with addresses, etc. I will also add
a
link to your site from my web page.

Multiple Field REG/RNG Recordings for a Global Event

Global Meditation and Prayer

17:30 to 17:35 Greenwich Mean Time (12:30 to 12:35 Eastern Standard Time)
The following information is extracted from an invitation to all
interested people across the world to give meditative attention to the
world itself at a particular time linked to a rare planetary conjunction.
I would like to invite all of us who have the facility to record a
random event or random number sequence to do so over the time around this
global event. If you can make such a recording, please let me know that
you intend to do so, and send a copy of the resulting data, with descriptive
and decoding information, to me at rdnelson.princeton.edu, or nelson@igpp.de,
where I will be Feb to May.
In Princeton, I will set at least two REG's to run for the full 24 hour
period, intending to assess the data from 1700 to 1800 GMT (1200 to 1300
EST)
as context for the time set for the primary global meditation, from 1230
to 1235 EST. The prediction is for a deviation of the distribution mean
from random expectation during this time period. I will make a similar
prediction for the surrounding 5 minute periods, 1225-30 and 1235-40, but
specify the global meditation time for a formal hypothesis test of a
proposed anomalous influence from a "consciousness field."

We would like to invite you to participate in a global meditation and
prayer on January 23, 1997. The auspicious symbolic significance of the
planetary alignment pattern on this day offers an unprecedented opportunity
for focused collective intention. We hope that by joining together we may
initiate a shift in our understanding of our relationship with Gaia.
Our intention is to use this astrological mandala to identify one moment
for people to join together in a resonant expression of unified global
consciousness. Perhaps through the power of intentional synergy we may
help catalyze the evolution of consciousness and potentiate global healing.
Participation is simple. On January 23rd, meditate, pray or do whatever
brings you into closer contact with the Divine for five minutes starting
at the local equivalent of 17:30 GMT. Then, at 17:35 GMT, join in a minute
of focused visualization. White light seems to be the most universal spiritual
archetype, so we suggest envisioning white light in unison as a way to bring
ourselves into resonance at the moment the astrological star pattern becomes
exact in New York City. Some people may also choose to extend their meditation,
prayer and visualization for a longer period of time and/or express their
intention through ritual, ceremony or celebrations throughout the day and
into the evening under the Full Moon.

event:
On January 23, 1997 there will be an exceedingly rare and archetypally
appropriate planetary alignment, a moment in time expressed in the heavens
as a perfect six-pointed star. This pattern comes on the exact day that
three
outer planets, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune are conjoined together for the
first time in almost two hundred years. Not since the Renaissance have all
five outer-most planets been so harmoniously arrayed. On January 23rd, this
cluster of planets will center on the first degrees of Aquarius, joined
by
the Sun, with the Full Moon opposite them all. Thus, perhaps this pattern
may also be seen as a symbolic representation of the long heralded dawning
of the Age of Aquarius.
